The Muslim World League (MWL) welcomed the UK government’s decision to ban imports of goods from illegal Israeli settlements in the Occupied Palestinian Territory and to impose restrictions on services associated with these settlements. It also welcomed the statement on the two-State solution issued by the Foreign Ministers of Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Iceland, Ireland, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, and the United Kingdom.

In a statement by the General Secretariat of the MWL, His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, the Secretary-General of the MWL and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars, commended this important and responsible position in support of the historical and legal rights of the Palestinian people. His Excellency called on the international community to assume its legal and moral responsibilities to immediately halt all violations by the Israeli government and to take effective and concrete measures against its attempts to impose a new demographic or geographical reality in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including through illegal settlement activity.

His Excellency praised the statement issued in this regard by the Foreign Ministers of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, the Republic of Indonesia, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the Republic of Türkiye, the State of Qatar, and the Arab Republic of Egypt, as well as their firm solidarity with the Palestinian people and unwavering support for their legitimate rights, foremost among them the right to establish their state in accordance with the two-State solution and relevant international resolutions, as the only path to achieving a just and lasting peace in the region.
