MWL commends US for targeting, killing Al-Qaeda leader Ayman Al-Zawahiri

The Muslim World League commended the United States for targeting and killing Al-Qaeda leader Ayman Al-Zawahiri, a symbol of international terrorism who planned and executed terrorist attacks that claimed the lives of thousands of people around the world.

His Excellency the Secretary General of the Muslim World League, Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars, Sheikh Dr. Mohammad bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, stressed that this was an important step in the effort to eliminate Al-Qaeda, a terrorist organization guilty of committing heinous crimes against humanity. Thousands of innocent people from diverse societal and religious backgrounds, including Muslims, were victims of Al-Qaeda’s physical attacks as well as Al-Qaeda’s attacks against the image of Islam and the reputation of Muslims around the world.

Dr. Al-Issa stressed the need for continued concerted international efforts that confront and combat terrorism at every level.
