Today, at the headquarters of the General-Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Jeddah, His Excellency Mr. Hissein Brahim Taha, the Secretary-General of the OIC, received His Excellency Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Zaid, Deputy Secretary-General of the MWL.
They discussed the prospects of cooperation between the OIC and the MWL as outlined in the memorandum of understanding signed between the two parties in 2020.
His Excellency Mr. Taha praised the valuable efforts made by the MWL to clarify the moderate teachings of Islam, as well as promote dialogue and understanding among peoples. He also highlighted the significance of the Charter of Makkah, which was signed by more than 1200 Muslim scholars in May 2019, and which was adopted by the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
