Statement on Resuming Talks between the Parties to the Conflict in Sudan

The Muslim World League welcomes the resumption of talks between representatives of the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces in Jeddah. These talks have been facilitated by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United States of America, in partnership with a joint representative from the African Union and the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD).
In a statement from the General-Secretariat of the MWL, His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, Secretary-General of the MWL and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars, emphasized the importance of these talks in light of the challenging circumstances that Sudan is experiencing. He called on all parties to act with wisdom and responsibility, to remain committed to dialogue, and to engage in earnest and constructive discussions. The objective is to find a lasting solution to the painful crisis affecting Sudan and its valued citizens.
The MWL emphasizes the importance of active engagement with the conflicting parties to halt the violence and the bloodshed of our brothers and sisters. The overarching aim is to alleviate the suffering of the Sudanese people and establish a comprehensive solution to ensure stability and prosperity for Sudan and its people.
