Statement on the Targeting of Al-Shifa Hospital and the Security Council Resolution on Gaza

The Muslim World League strongly condemns the Israeli occupation forces’ storming of Al-Shifa Medical Hospital and the bombing near the Jordanian field hospital in the Gaza Strip. It welcomes the Security Council resolution that obliges the parties in the Gaza conflict to adhere to international law.
This statement was made by the General Secretariat of the MWL, represented by its Secretary-General and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars, Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa. On behalf of the MWL, its councils, bodies, and assemblies, he reiterated the necessity of adopting a humanitarian truce to protect civilians, especially women and children who are in constant danger.
Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa emphasized that targeting hospitals is a brutal crime that violates all religious and humanitarian laws and customs. He stressed that the Security Council’s decision is a first step in the right direction and urged the international community to address these horrific crimes committed against children, women, civilians, and civilian facilities.
