The Muslim World League Commends the Firm Stance of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia towards the Palestinian Issue

Makkah:

The Muslim World League supports the firm stance of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia regarding the Arab-Israeli peace process, as well as Saudi Arabia’s unwavering commitment to the Palestinian issue and the rights of the Palestinian people.

On behalf of the MWL’s global councils, bodies, and assemblies, His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Al-Issa, Secretary-General of the MWL and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars, supports the position of Saudi Arabia, which was communicated to the United States administration: diplomatic relations with Israel will not be established unless an independent Palestinian state is recognized within the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital. This position also demands the cessation of hostilities in Gaza and the withdrawal of all occupying forces.

The MWL commends Saudi Arabia’s call to the international community and the permanent members of the UN Security Council to expedite the recognition of the Palestinian state. This step is crucial for the Palestinian people to secure their legitimate rights, which in turn would facilitate the achievement of comprehensive and just peace and security in the region and globally.
