At its headquarters in the capital, Tirana, the Islamic Community of Albania, which encompasses 35 Fatwa Houses, hosted His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Al-Issa, Secretary-General of the Muslim World League and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars.
His Eminence the President of the Community and the Grand Mufti of Albania welcomed Dr. Al-Issa to the Balkans, congratulating His Excellency the Secretary-General on the great success of the MWL’s Conference on Promoting Peace and Coexistence in the Balkans, as well as the broad positive impact that the Sarajevo Declaration achieved in the region. This is all an extension of the MWL’s efforts in spreading the great Islamic message of promoting coexistence, in addition to its tireless efforts in confronting all forms of hatred, extremism, and Islamophobia.
The Grand Mufti of Albania affirmed that the MWL enjoys a great place in the hearts of Muslims around the world, and in the hearts of Muslim minorities in particular, as the MWL’s efforts have a significant impact in enhancing their positive presence and coexistence in their countries.
Dr. Al-Issa stressed that the MWL is dedicated to the service of Muslims and Islamic communities, which bear a great responsibility and have a pivotal role in promoting the values of Islam including tolerance, moderation, and mercy that encompasses all.
