The Indonesian President Receives the Secretary-General of the Muslim World League

Jakarta:

At the Presidential Palace in the capital, Jakarta, His Excellency Mr. Prabowo Subianto, the President of the Republic of Indonesia, received His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, Secretary-General of the Muslim World League (MWL) and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars.

During the meeting, His Excellency the President praised the global stature of the Muslim World League as an inclusive reference point for Muslim peoples—particularly its prominent role in building bridges between Islamic schools of thought, as well as its effective and influential efforts in confronting Islamophobia. This came in the context of discussing the themes of the address delivered by the Secretary-General on behalf of the Muslim peoples under the MWL's umbrella, on March 15, from the United Nations platform in New York, at the request of the General Assembly during its first observance of this occasion.

For his part, the Secretary-General affirmed that the MWL originates from the Muslim community and is committed to its service, deploying all its capabilities in their support. Inspired by the mercy to all creation with which our noble Prophet (PBUH) was sent, and by the noble character he was commissioned to perfect, the MWL strives to serve all humanity—especially in ways that help foster peace and harmony within its societies.

His Excellency Dr. Al-Issa also elaborated on the efforts of the MWL in supporting charitable initiatives and projects around the world, as well as its review of proposals submitted for further support and enhancement. He noted that all such efforts are carried out in accordance with the required government approvals in each country.

He also praised the Indonesian model for fostering harmony and coexistence among its diverse components under a single national state, stressing that its experience and example serve as a key pillar in promoting global peace and societal harmony—particularly in countries with religious and ethnic diversity.
