The Muslim World League Welcomes the Joint Statement Issued by the Consultative Ministerial Meeting of Foreign Ministers of Arab and Islamic Countries in Riyadh
Makkah:
The Muslim World League (MWL) has welcomed the joint statement issued following the consultative ministerial meeting of foreign ministers from a number of Arab and Islamic countries, held in Riyadh, the capital of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to address recent developments concerning attacks affecting several countries, including member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the Republic of Azerbaijan, and the Republic of Türkiye.
In a statement issued by the MWL’s General Secretariat, His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, Secretary-General of the MWL and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars, affirmed the MWL’s full support for the position expressed in the joint statement, particularly its condemnation of Iranian attacks targeting residential areas, civilian infrastructure, and diplomatic missions, which constitute serious violations of international law and humanitarian norms.
His Excellency reiterated to the international community, in all its components, the importance of addressing such violations with the utmost seriousness and responsibility, and of taking firm and collective measures to uphold international law. He further emphasized the need for Iran to comply with Security Council Resolution No. 2817 and to cease its aggressive practices targeting neighboring countries, which undermine regional and international security and stability.
