The “Abuja Declaration,” launched by the Muslim World League during its international conference, “Diversity and Social Peace in West Africa,” adopted the “Nigeria Youth for Peace” initiative.
Developed in close cooperation with the Coordinating Body of Islamic and Christian Leaders and Institutions, the initiative seeks to empower young people to play an active and tangible role in consolidating sustainable community peace within the League’s broader initiative for West Africa, particularly in Nigeria.
It aims to channel the energies of youth toward building bridges of peace and advancing sustainable development, rather than leaving them vulnerable to extremist narratives that incite conflict and violence. The initiative was launched under the auspices and with the direct support of H.E. the President of Nigeria and his government.
