The Muslim World League Condemns the “E1” Settlement Plan and Associated Settlement Activities East of Occupied Jerusalem

Makkah:

The Muslim World League (MWL) strongly condemned and categorically rejected the “E1” settlement plan and associated settlement activities in occupied East Jerusalem.

In a statement by the General Secretariat of the League, His Eminence Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, the Secretary-General of the MWL and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars, condemned this dangerous plan, which threatens the realization of an independent Palestinian state, as well as all illegal Israeli settlement policies in the Occupied Palestinian Territory and the support and protection afforded to violations and acts of violence committed by settlers against the Palestinian people and their property. He stressed that these actions are part of a longstanding Israeli approach that violates relevant international laws and United Nations resolutions and undermines all peace efforts.

His Eminence stressed the urgent need for the international community to assume its legal and moral responsibilities to ensure the immediate cessation of all acts of violence and violations, settlement policies, and other measures aimed at altering the geographical and demographic character of the Occupied Palestinian Territory. He highly commended the statement issued in this regard by the Foreign Ministers of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, the Republic of Indonesia, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the Republic of Türkiye, the State of Qatar, and the Arab Republic of Egypt, as well as their steadfast solidarity with the Palestinian people and firm support for their legitimate rights, foremost among them the right to establish an independent and sovereign Palestinian state, in accordance with the two-state solution and relevant international resolutions, as the only path to achieving a just and lasting peace in the region.
