The session addressed:
The responsibility of religious leaders to confront ethical violations in AI-generated content that fall within areas of shared religious concern and oversight, emphasizing that the absence of such a role leaves everyone vulnerable to targeting and polarization by actors seeking to spread misinformation and manipulate behavior.
The need to approach artificial intelligence through values and considerations rooted in sound human conscience, and to avoid treating it as though it were a human being or an inherently reliable source, particularly as it may at times present false, misleading, or deliberately targeted information in a convincing manner.
Recognition of the importance of the Muslim World League’s efforts to digitize the rich heritage of Islamic scholarship and make it accessible to all, as well as the remarks of H.E. the Secretary-General of the MWL and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars, which were described as a religiously grounded roadmap for AI ethics.
The need for transparency among companies developing artificial intelligence, and the importance of directing AI toward promoting good and serving humanity.
