The Muslim World League Receives Numerous Calls and Messages of Condemnation Regarding Iranian Aggression Against Several Gulf, Arab, and Islamic Countries

Makkah:
The Muslim World League (MWL) continues to receive calls and messages of condemnation from prominent religious figures, including muftis and senior scholars across the Muslim world, following the recent Iranian aggression against several Arab and Islamic countries. These attacks targeted residential areas and civilian infrastructure, including a blatant assault on the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, home to Islam’s holiest sites—the Qibla of Muslims and the Prophet’s Mosque (peace and blessings be upon him). The MWL further expressed its strong condemnation of the threats posed to the Kingdom’s neighboring countries by such acts of aggression, affirming the full right of the affected states to take all necessary measures to safeguard their security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, and to deter any further escalation.

The eminent scholars conveyed their profound sorrow over what they described as an unprecedented act committed by a Muslim state against neighboring countries with which it is not engaged in armed conflict, expressing their full support for all statements issued by the MWL in this regard.

They further emphasized that this act constitutes, in both moral and Sharia terms, a violation of the principles of Islamic fraternity, a breach of neighborly relations, and a departure from the values that unite the Muslim Ummah—particularly when such actions are carried out by a state that publicly advocates for unity and solidarity among Muslims.

The scholars underscored that Islam is not merely a set of slogans or rhetoric, but a system of values and conduct that must be reflected in responsible actions, especially in times of crisis.

They also noted that such aggression stands in stark contrast to the principles of mutual understanding, cooperation, and rapprochement among Islamic nations, and undermines collective efforts to strengthen ties of friendship and uphold the shared commitments embodied in the charter of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

The prevailing sentiment among the distinguished muftis and scholars highlighted that the continuation of Iran’s actions risks leading to increasing isolation, with serious consequences for regional stability and the broader interests of the Muslim world.

His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, the Secretary-General of the MWL and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars, expressed his deep appreciation for the positions articulated by Their Eminences and Excellencies. He commended their commitment to unity, their emphasis on strengthening bonds of fraternity across the Islamic world, and their sincere concern over developments that represent a grave and unprecedented challenge to the values and cohesion of the Muslim Ummah. He noted the truthful statements they made, indicating that the Islamic nation in its national states had never witnessed such a blatant and audacious aggression.
